Living a Bookish and Musical Fairy Tale – February 2026 Wrap

February was full of fantastic moments, from lots of anthology news to new music memories. I’m excited to share the highlights.

News from Anthology Land

This month, four of my stories found forever homes. This brings my number of total acceptances to twenty-five, which is such a milestone.

First, I’m so excited that my young adult meet-cute, “Two Bloomed Hearts,” got accepted for Tiptoe Through the Tulips With Me by KissMet Quarterly. This one will be published in the spring, and I can’t wait until Aria and Félix’s musical meet-cute is out in the world.

Second, my young adult romantasy with a selkie love interest, “A Sealed Promise,” got accepted for Saltwater and Ash by Micromance Magazine. This is the story I wrote and submitted the day of the deadline on New Year’s Eve, so I’m floored that it was chosen for the anthology. I love this one so much, and I can’t wait for readers to meet Leana and Morven.

Third, my young adult fantasy, “A Diamond Reign,” will be published in Mental Health and Magic by Fable House Press. Toward the end of last year, I submitted a pitch, and my story got accepted. The draft isn’t due until the middle of March, so I’m going to rewrite the story because it’s an old one from years ago and my voice has changed a ton since then. I’m so happy the publisher is giving us time to work on our stories before going through the editing process. I absolutely love “A Diamond Reign,” and I’m excited to make it super sparkly for this anthology.

Fourth, I signed the contract for my new adult strawberry dark romantasy that I adore so much. I need to stay quiet about the specifics for a little longer, but I will definitely be able to share all the details about this one very soon.

Along with these four acceptances, I couldn’t let a month go by without working on a new story. I wrote and submitted a young adult folk horror centered around moon symbolism and an ancient mirror. This one is a new favorite, and I should find out the publisher’s decision in March.

Also, I received my copy of I’ve Got My Love To Keep Me Warm by KissMet Quarterly. My new adult artsy and wintery meet-cute, “Sculpted Love in Watercolor,” is in this anthology, and I wrote all about my first publication of the year in this blog post.

All around, February was a fabulous month in the anthology world. I’m grateful for my acceptances and can’t wait until the stories are in print. I’m still waiting to hear about a few submissions, so my fingers are crossed for those.

Returning to My YA Gothic Thriller

This month, I opened my notes document for my young adult gothic thriller for the first time in a while. I’m hoping to start drafting this book in a couple months, so I’m making final tweaks to my outline, solidifying my characters, and wrapping up my research. All the pieces for this one are really falling into place. I can’t wait to get this dark and twisty tale on the page soon.

Also, I started searching for comp titles and read three absolutely fantastic books this month, Lost Girls of Hollow Lake by Rebekah Faubion, Under the Surface by Diana Urban, and The Island by Natasha Preston. I’ll definitely be recommending these three, and two of them are perfect comps for my book, which is a bonus.

RevPit Is Coming

In February, the editors for the 2026 RevPit annual contest were announced. I’m super excited to participate again because last year was a blast.

All the fun kicks off in March, starting with my meet the editor session. I’m already eager to get my submissions, but I’ll need to wait a few weeks before that happens.

Kicking Off My Fairy-Tale Chapter With “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now”

My fairy-tale chapter is finally here. On February 13, I released my sassy country song, “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now.”

I’m so happy “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now” is out in the world, and I hope my Butterflies love this song as much as I do.

My First Studio Session of 2026

On February 15, I went to the Vault for my first studio session of 2026. I had a blast as always.

If you would like to find out what I recorded during the session, check out this blog post. I’m so happy that I’m doing pop music again.

So, that’s a wrap on my February. I loved making new memories as an author and songwriter this month, and I’m looking forward to finding out what March has in store for me.
