Introverts Can Have Fun Too – July 2024 Wrap
July was such a fun and busy month. From releasing a new single and playing live to getting my own Amazon author page, I had lots of memorable moments. Here are the highlights.
Yeah, I’m Introverted, So What?
On July 5, I released my sassy pop song, “I’m Introverted, So What?” I’m beyond excited this song is out. It’s officially an anthem for all the introverts out there.
You can download and stream this bop on the major music platforms here.
Since this is the last single off my album, Hear Me Out is coming very soon. For now, I hope you love “Kind Heart,” “Passive Aggressive,” and “I’m Introverted, So What?”
Live Music Fun
I got to play live twice this month. It was great to get out there and perform again.
First, I played an hour-long set of all original music on the Fourth of July at the Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival. This was my second time playing at the festival, and I had a blast.
Second, I played my first date of the summer at the Murrysville Farmers Market. It felt amazing to be back again.
I put together a set highlights video. I hope you enjoy watching it. Since I performed on July 25, I obviously included Christmas songs.
Next month, I’ll be playing at the ISSA Awards after party and the Murrysville Farmers Market again. I can’t wait.
“Passive Aggressive” Is Number 5 on the Heart of Indie Top 10
I’m so grateful that the Heart of Indie Radio listeners are loving “Passive Aggressive.” In July, they voted it into the number 5 spot on the top 10. My Butterflies are seriously the best. I can’t thank my Heart of Indie family and the listeners enough for all their support.
This Butterfly Has Her Own Amazon Author Page
I’m still flipping out over the fact that I have an author page on Amazon. Like, what?
Since Clio’s Curious Dash Through Time is available for pre-order, I was able to add it to my page. When everything finally went through and I created the link for my page, I couldn’t believe it. I may or may not have cried a little.
Being an author is something I have been working toward for so long. I may not have a publishing deal for my book yet, but being included in anthologies has boosted my confidence and brought me such joy. Having my own Amazon author page is the coolest.
If you would like to visit my author page, click here. I can’t wait to watch this page grow as more books get added. This is the beginning of a wonderful adventure.
Anthology Updates
Anthologies are still my whole personality. I love it here.
I can’t wait for Clio’s Curious Dash Through Time to be published on August 6. Holding this book in my hands is going to be the coolest thing ever. I’m counting down the days.
Next, I’m excited to share that UnCensored Ink: A Banned Book Inspired Anthology has a release date. It will be published on October 29. The pre-order for this one will be going live soon.
Back in April, I got asked to be the guest editor for another Wild Ink anthology called Prom Perfect: A Totally Dramatic and Wild YA Anthology. The submissions closed on July 24, and my mind is blown by the number of authors who wrote pieces for this anthology. It has been a total joy reading all the submissions, and the whole process so far has been educational as well. The anthologist and I will be meeting early August to finalize our decisions, and I already know this is going to be so hard. Now I know how agents feel when they say passing on projects is the worst. It hurts knowing we’ll have to reject amazing stories, since there’s no way we can accept them all. Still, we’re going to end up with a fantastic collection of work. I’m looking forward to seeing how the process continues to unfold.
Lastly, I decided to submit stories to three more anthologies. I swear this is turning into an obsession. My stories are in different stages at the moment. One has already been submitted to a Christmas anthology. Another is a gothic horror story that I’m almost finished drafting. The third one is a fairy tale story that I have an idea for but haven’t started writing yet. At this point, I feel unstoppable. Let’s see how many more anthologies I write for before the end of the year.
Wild Ink Publicist Role Unlocked
A few months ago, I joined Wild Ink Publishing as a publicity intern. Since the ink has dried on the contract, I’m so excited to share that I’m officially a publicist. It has been a joy working with talented authors to book opportunities while building my own network in the publishing industry. I can’t thank Abby enough for giving me a place in the Wild Ink family. I’m forever grateful.
That’s a wrap on my fabulous July. I already know August is going to have some amazing moments, from the publication of Clio’s Curious Dash Through Time to the release of Hear Me Out and attending the ISSA Awards. Here’s to more summer memories!
