Falling into Autumn Music and Author Memories – September 2022 Wrap
It’s finally fall. If you’re wondering, I picked a pumpkin for my room and brought out my stuffed pumpkins. In short, I’m ready for sweater weather and the spooky season.
September was such a great month. Since I’m in between releases, things have calmed down a bit. Still, I’m busy behind the scenes getting everything sorted for my EP, It Is What It Is, which is coming soon. Despite not much going on at the moment, September unfolded into a month where I got to relax, make music memories, and begin research for a new book. I’m so excited to share the highlights.
“You Get What You Give” Hit Number 1 on the Heart of Indie Radio Top 10
On September 26, it was officially announced that “You Get What You Give” hit number 1 on the Heart of Indie Radio Top 10. I truly feel so honored and grateful. This is my first number-one song with Heart of Indie.
Thank you so much to all the listeners and my lovely Butterflies for voting “You Get What You Give” as the top song to wrap up September. Sparkly fireballs for everyone!
Wrapping Up the Murrysville Farmers Market
On September 29, I played at the Murrysville Farmers Market for the last time this year. It was also the final day of the market.
Also, shoutout to Snickers for taking a photo with me while I was on my break.
I put together a highlights video from my set. I hope you enjoy it.
I’m so grateful that I got to play during the Murrysville Farmers Market this year. It was a fantastic opportunity, and I had a ton of fun.
Alterations for My Josie Music Awards Dress
I’m buzzing with anticipation and excitement because the Josie Music Awards are next month. Ever since I received my two nominations, I’ve been metaphorically pinching myself to make sure I haven’t been dreaming. I picked my dress for the awards back in July, and this month, I went back for alterations. I love my dress so much, and I can’t wait to show you. You’ll have to wait until the big day.
Going back to Nashville for my first red carpet and awards show feels like a dream, and I’m counting down the days. It’s not far away now. I know it’s going to be a magical experience, and I promise I’ll share all the highlights from the weekend.
The It Is What It Is Photo Shoot
My five-track EP, It Is What It Is, is coming very soon. I had my photo shoot for the cover artwork and press photos for the EP, and I can’t wait to share the pictures.
I’ve been working so hard behind the scenes getting everything together for the EP, and the photo shoot gave me a rush of excitement. It Is What It Is has a release date, and I promise I’ll spill all the tea once everything is finalized. I poured my heart and soul into this project, so I can’t wait to share it with you.
Research for My NaNoWriMo Book
This month, I officially started researching for my new book that I’ll be writing in November for NaNoWriMo, or National Novel Writing Month. I’ve been having the time of my life doing research and watching my story ideas unfold in front of me. My document of notes is over 35,000 words. To put this in perspective, that’s a little less than half of the length of a novel. This book is going to be very different from my first two manuscripts, and I’m counting down the days until I can write it in November.
Since beginning the research process, I’ve had several realizations. I wrote a special blog post that shares how researching for this novel has helped me discover my love of writing again, shake off my doubts from querying, recognize my growth as a writer, and more. You can read it here.
I’m grateful for all the memories September brought me. I can’t believe there are only three months left in 2022. This year has been truly magical, and I’m looking forward to what the end of the year has in store for me.
