My Nominations for the 8th Annual Josie Music Awards

Wow, I can’t put into words how truly honored and grateful I feel. I’m officially a Josie Music Awards nominee!

There were 52,442 submissions for the 8th Annual Josie Music Awards, and only 1.8 percent of the submissions received a nomination. I seriously can’t believe I’m included in that tiny percentage. As if getting nominated isn’t magical enough, I received two nominations. I feel so lucky and blessed, and my heart is overflowing with gratitude.

My Two Nominations for the 8th Annual Josie Music Awards

First, I received a nomination for Pop Artist of the Year. This means the world to me. No matter how much I’m blending genres in my music, pop will forever be part of me. My love for pop music and the pop artists and songwriters I look up to inspired me to pursue songwriting, so to be recognized as a pop artist with this nomination is such an honor.

Second, Dear Diary received a nomination for Pop Album of the Year. I honestly can’t even begin to express what this means to me. I wrote this album for myself. Through writing it and allowing myself to explore my thoughts, feelings, and insecurities, I’ve become a stronger person. The journey of self-discovery that this album took me on changed me in many ways, and I’ve grown and learned so much by being vulnerable and sharing my story. I never dreamed this project would be recognized in such a special way when I wrote it. The fact that it is up for Pop Album of the Year at the Josie Music Awards means literally everything to me.

I’m still trying to wrap my mind around the fact that I’m officially an award nominated artist. I’ve always loved awards shows, and I’ve dreamed of being a nominee one day. That day has come, and it feels even more magical than I imagined.

A Full Circle Moment

People always say that the world works in mysterious ways. I believe that everything happens for a reason and that what may seem like a coincidence is actually something that holds meaning. When I received my nominations for the Josie Music Awards, I couldn’t help recognizing something pretty incredible.

Last November, I went to Nashville for the first time. It was truly everything I dreamed of and more, and I wrote all about it in this blog post. Anyway, two highlights from the trip were touring the Grand Ole Opry House and attending the CMA Awards.

When I was at the Opry, I cried multiple times. There was something special about being there. It was more than excitement from being inside my dream venue to play one day. It was more than feeling the magic of country music history around me. When I stepped into the famous circle for a picture, I felt something I have no words to describe.

Also, when I selected the week I wanted to go to the songwriting retreat, I didn’t know the CMAs were the same week. Coincidence? No way. The CMAs were the first awards I attended. It was such an inspiring night that I’ll never forget.

So, here comes the full circle moment.

The 8th Annual Josie Music Awards are taking place on October 23 at the Grand Ole Opry House.

When I went to Nashville last year, I went to the Opry as a tourist, and I attended the CMAs as a country music fan. Now, when I return to Music City, I’ll be attending the Josie Music Awards at the Opry as a nominee. I’m literally getting chills writing this. My musical stars are starting to align, and dreams are coming true.

I’m so beyond excited for the Josie Music Awards. Does this mean I’ll get to walk my first red carpet? We’ll see!

2022 has brought me some amazing achievements so far, and becoming a Josie Music Awards nominee is definitely an achievement I never saw coming. Both of my nominations mean the world to me. Now, I’m going to metaphorically pop a bottle of champagne and celebrate!
