A Kaleidoscopic Start to Spring – March 2025 Wrap
Spring has sprung, and wow, March bloomed into a fantastic month. Here are my golden highlights.
Kaleidoscopic Quill Submissions Are Open
Submissions for the anthology of my heart, Kaleidoscopic Quill, are officially open. I can’t believe it.

So far, I have read stunning stories and poems. It means the absolute world to me that so many authors and poets are feeling inspired to write for my anthology. Seeing others sharing their love for butterflies and all they symbolize has made this journey very special, and submissions have only been open for a few weeks. I can’t wait to read more work next month.
The Glowing Kirkus Review for Enchanted Tales & Twisted Lore
I’m featured in a Kirkus review. Someone pinch me because no way!
Enchanted Tales & Twisted Lore received a review from Kirkus Reviews, and my all-time favorite story, “Dabria’s Shadows,” is one of the stories specifically mentioned. This is hands down one of the wildest things that has happened on my author journey so far. I’ll never get over this.
If you would like to read the review, click here. Huge thank you to Kirkus Reviews for such a glowing review and for highlighting my story. This is such a dream come true.
More Anthology News
I’m delighted to share my young adult folk horror story, “Where Lava Flows,” has been accepted for publication in HORRORific Tales Volume 2: Cryptids. Since I have a story in volume one, I’m over the moon to be included in this anthology, too. “Where Lava Flows” is a reimagining of a legend steeped in Chilean folklore, and I absolutely loved writing this one.
Also, I worked on two other stories for an anthology. The first is young adult magical realism, and the second is an old young adult fantasy I haven’t found a home for yet. I’m keeping my fingers crossed one or both of them are accepted.
Revise & Resub’s 2025 Annual Contest Has Commenced
I seriously can’t believe I’m a #RevPit editor. The annual contest started in March, and I’m seriously having the time of my life.
First, I held my #MeetTheEditor session. I loved sharing a little about myself and interacting with the authors. This was such a fun way to kick off the contest.
When submissions opened, all the editors had access to a spreadsheet that displayed the submissions in real time, only showing title, genre, age category, and which editors the author chose. When I say I was glued to this for the whole submission period, I’m not joking.
Then, I had to wait until the first readers scored submissions before I had access to my personal spreadsheet. While I was waiting, I did my #AskEditor session. The authors had such great questions, and I loved answering all of them.
Once I was able to view my submissions, I felt like a kid on Christmas morning.
From March 24 to now, I have been reading materials and fantastic full manuscripts. I officially have my finalists.
In April, I’ll choose my winner. Right now, I don’t know which author I want to crown my winner, so I’ll be doing a lot of reflecting and chatting with the other editors to make my decision.
My Presentation for the Writer’s Workout Conference
In March, I shared a presentation for the Writer’s Workout Conference. My presentation was called A Peek Into Publishing Podcasts, and I loved chatting about this topic. If you would like to watch the video, it’s available here. Huge thank you to Theresa and the whole Writer’s Workout team for having me. I hope I’ll get the opportunity to present again at next year’s conference.
My Interview on We Bleed Orange and Black
If you would have told me a year ago that I would be interviewed on a horror podcast, I would have been like, huh? Well, that’s exactly what happened.

I stopped by We Bleed Orange and Black for an interview about my various publishing roles, three of my horror short stories in anthologies, and more. You can listen to my interview on Spotify. Huge thank you to Jeff for having me. I had so much fun on the show.
One Year of Amethyst Ink Editorial
March marked one year of Amethyst Ink Editorial. How it has already been a year, I don’t know. Being a freelance editor is a total dream job, and over the past year, I’ve had the absolute honor of working with such talented authors who went on to get full requests, sign with literary agents, and land publishing deals. I can’t wait to read more amazing stories during my second year of Amethyst Ink.
One Year of Literary Blend
March also marked one year of Literary Blend. Hosting this show is such a gift. Over the past year, I’ve had wonderful conversations with so many fabulous guests. I love giving others a platform and sharing meaningful conversations on topics related to publishing. I’m looking forward to many more chapters of the show.
So, there you have it. That’s a wrap on my March. This month was incredible, and I’m looking forward to April.
