My Twenty-Sixth Anthology Publication – Roots & Rivers by Lowell & Benson Publishing
Flowers and folklore? Yes, please!
I’m so excited to share that my young adult dark fantasy, “When Petals Fall,” is now out in Roots & Rivers: A Collection of Myth and Folklore by Lowell & Benson Publishing.
If you love folklore as much as I do, you can purchase the anthology as an ebook or a paperback here.
A Peek Into “When Petals Fall”
“When Petals Fall” is an own-voices narrative that features original flower folklore, an ancient forest, and the beautiful love of friendship.
Zaria’s worst day of her life was when she got bit by a venomous eel and lost her eyesight, at least, until her golden rose companion, Kimora, falls ill. Unable to imagine a future without her best friend, Zaria puts her faith in the Ivory Queen, a divine flower from the Petal Island’s folklore believed to grant wishes. Only, Zaria must journey through the Wilted Woods and endure the toxic fragrance from chocolate-scented poppies to reach the Ivory Queen. Once she arrives, she finds herself at a crossroads she never anticipated, wish for Kimora to be healed, or for the divine flower to restore her vision.
Opening My Copy of Roots & Rivers
Roots & Rivers got published on June 29, and I couldn’t wait for my paperback to arrive. “When Petals Fall” is a special story to me, so after receiving a couple passes, I’m grateful it’s finally published in a wonderful anthology.
You can watch the video of me opening my book here.
I loved taking a photo with Roots & Rivers!

Thank you so much to Lucy for publishing “When Petals Fall.” Roots & Rivers is on my bookshelf with my other folkloric anthologies.
Where do I sign up to get a golden rose companion? I want one!
