“Across the Pond” and More Fun – February 2022 Wrap

February was such a fun month. Along with releasing “Across the Pond,” I was given some pretty awesome opportunities and much more. Here are the highlights.

“Across the Pond” is Here

I’ve been waiting for almost a year to release “Across the Pond.” This is my heartfelt thank you to the UK and my lovely family across the pond for all of their support.

Since “Across the Pond” is so special to me, I wanted to create a behind the lyrics video. I share the inspiration behind the song, some of my favorite lyrics, and more.

Also, I shared a studio vlog from my studio session. Recording “Across the Pond” was so much fun, so I hope you enjoy the behind the scenes moments of how “Across the Pond” came to be.

I can’t believe this song is out. I’m forever sending my love across the pond.

The February Interviews, Press, and Other Memorable Opportunities

February was full of fabulous opportunities. I’m forever grateful for all of them.

First, the month kicked off with a feature article for “Across the Pond” on Crank It Music Magazine. I love these announcement articles because they always make me so excited for the song to release. Read the feature article for “Across the Pond” here.

I had the most fun ever doing an episode of Country Kickback with Danni. This was my very first interview based in Australia, which was super special. Danni has such a kind heart, and I loved chatting with her about my music. Also, I performed “Across the Pond” and “I Hope You Know You’re Lucky.” Watch my episode of Country Kickback here.

Instagram Lives are always fun. I’m so glad I got to catch up with Paul for an interview for Live Country Sessions. Paul and I had lots to chat about since the last time we talked, and you can watch the full interview here.

I’ve done so many interviews over the past year, but I can honestly say my interview for the Live and Amplified #Livecast Podcast was definitely a favorite. Tom and I literally chatted about everything for an hour. We talked about my songwriting inspirations, songwriting process, my music, Write on Track, Nashville, and so much more. There are a ton of laughs along the way, and Tom and I discovered we’re birthday neighbors. Also, Tom wrapped up the show by asking me a randomly generated question, and let me tell you, you don’t want to miss this. The interview is available on all podcast platforms, and you can also watch it on YouTube here.

Also, I did an interview for the Voice of A Woman Real Talk Podcast. Linda has supported me from the very beginning, and she’s become such a great friend. When she told me that she was starting her own podcast along with her radio show, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to be on an episode. Linda and I have an honest, authentic, and inspiring conversation. We chat about deeper topics, like women in the music industry, and we dive into my music and more with many laughs along the way. She even makes me choose between bridges and elves. Confused? Believe me, it’s worth a listen. Catch the episode on Spotify and all other podcast platforms.

Next, I had the absolute honor of being welcomed back for another interview with Alpha Sessions. Ron interviewed me last spring, so I loved getting to catch up with him. We talk about my music, trip to Nashville, and so much more. During the interview, I perform “Will I Ever,” my version of “Homecoming Queen,” and “Across the Pond.” I absolutely loved doing my second interview with Alpha Sessions, and you can watch it here

I always look forward to Jess writing interviews for my music for Fierce & Fabulous Revolution. She wrote such a beautiful one for “Across the Pond.” Jess is one of my special friends in the UK who truly gave me a chance from day one when she wrote my first ever review for “Into Focus.” It’s incredible to see how far I’ve come since then, and I’m so grateful Jess is still in my corner and supporting all of my music. Read her review of “Across the Pond” here.

I had lots of fun doing an interview for the Women of Country to chat all about my musical journey and “Across the Pond.” Nicole wrote a feature article, and you can read it here.

To celebrate “Across the Pond,” I did an interview for Black on Track by Hangover Hill Studios. This was a super fun radio show interview that got aired on several stations throughout the week. Matt asked me about my music, then I announced “Across the Pond” to be played after the interview. You can listen to my full interview here.

Finally, I was invited to be part of the Belles and Gals International Awards, which was my very first awards show appearance. Linda from Voice of A Woman and Tara Henton hosted the awards, and I joined them for an interview about “Across the Pond” and more. Also, I performed “Across the Pond” and “Will I Ever.” You can watch the full awards show here.

I’m so thankful for all of these incredible features. I swear, being featured on so many different platforms never fails to make me smile. I can’t wait to see what March holds for me.

My Live Piano Version of “Homecoming Queen”

My rendition of “Homecoming Queen” by Kelsea Ballerini has been doing extremely well worldwide. I’ve been getting so much airplay, and the song has even charted on some stations, including climbing to number 9 on the Prospect Radio Top 20, number 8 on the KB Country Radio Jukebox Top 25 Countdown, and number 2 on the Radio TFSC Top 24. To celebrate the love “Homecoming Queen” is receiving, I shared a special live piano version of the song.

“Homecoming Queen” is such a special song to me. You can read all about my rendition in this blog post.

My Songwriting Dreams are Coming True

February was incredible. Aside from these amazing moments, I have very exciting things going on behind the scenes. I can’t share details about them yet, but let’s just say some of my songwriting dreams are coming true. I’ve been working so hard on my songwriting since I started taking music more seriously in 2019. Being a songwriter isn’t easy. I have to continuously work on my craft and network with other songwriters and artists. My hard work is starting to pay off, and I’m bursting to share some exciting news soon.

What’s Coming Next

In March, I’m releasing “Four Leaf Clover,” which is the closing entry of my Dear Diary chapter. I can’t believe my debut chapter is coming to an end, but I’m so excited to share “Four Leaf Clover” on St. Patrick’s Day.

Also, I’ve been working so hard on my new country-pop EP. I’ve been writing and rewriting the songs over the past few months, and I’m so close to being finished with the songwriting side of things on the newer songs. Two of the songs are already recorded, and I’ll be heading back to the studio in April to start recording the final three songs. I already love this project so much, and I’m looking forward to sharing more details about the EP over the next few months.

2022 is off to a fantastic start for my songwriting, and it’s only two months over. I seriously can’t wait to see what the rest of the year has to offer. I have so much in the works and other exciting projects I’m working on. Here’s to more memories coming next month in March.
