A Fun, Festive, and Fairy-Tale Coated Spring Session
Today, I returned to my second home, the Vault, to finish recording my fairy-tale inspired EP and start a new Christmas pop song. I had so much fun, so I’m excited to share the details.
I’m No One’s Princess, But I’ll Wear My Invisible Tiara
“Invisible Tiara” is such a self-empowering song. I seriously loved writing and recording this one.
Several weeks ago, Luke recorded the guitar and bass from Nashville and did a perfect job, as always. Then, Sophia stopped by the studio last weekend to record the drums. I’m not surprised she did a perfect job, too. My musicians are the most talented.
I started the session with this song, and Bob and I layered some other instruments before I sang. I had a blast with all the background vocals. The song isn’t even mixed yet, and I already have the rough recording on repeat.
I love “Invisible Tiara” so much. It’s in triple meter and has such a catchy vibe. I can’t wait for you to hear this one.
Finally Finishing “Happy Never After”
After years of rewriting and rerecording “Happy Never After,” the song is officially done. I couldn’t be happier with the final version. This song is special to me, and I’m glad it found a home on my new EP. “Happy Never After” will be the last track on the project.
The Title of My Fairy-Tale Inspired EP
Since I finished recording my EP, I wanted to celebrate by revealing the title.
My country-focused, fairy-tale inspired EP is called…
Happy Ever After Doesn’t Last Forever!
I’m beyond excited to share this project with you soon.
Christmas in April
That’s right, I brought the festive vibes to the Vault with my new Christmas pop song, “Sugar and Spice.”
Bob and I had a ton of time left in the session after we finished the EP songs, so we got most of “Sugar and Spice” done. We started by building up the track, then I recorded sleigh bells, because of course I did, and the vocals. There is still more I would like to do with the song, but I love how it’s sounding so far. I’m looking forward to finishing this one when I go back to the studio this summer.

After working so hard on the songs for Happy Ever After Doesn’t Last Forever, I can’t believe I’ve wrapped the recording. The lead single, “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now,” is already mastered. The second single, “If Your Heart Eclipses Mine,” is almost done being mixed. Then, Bob will work on “Invisible Tiara,” “Paradise,” and “Happy Never After.”
I’m officially in my country princess chapter!
