The Most Fun August Day at the Vault Recording Studio
Wow, I’m going to start by saying my studio session on August 4 was seriously incredible. The amount of music I recorded in ten hours literally blows my mind. This was hands down one of my most productive sessions, and it was a blast as always. Here come all the highlights!
Kicking Off the Session with Luke
First, my amazing guitarist, Luke, recorded guitar and bass for two new songs, “Four Leaf Clover” and Back Then.” I’m here to confirm he totally slayed. I can’t wait for you to hear these two.
Luke and I have so much fun recording music together, and there are definitely many more sessions to come!
Wrapping Up Recording for “Snow on Christmas Day”
After Luke finished, Bob and I wrapped up my new country-pop Christmas song, “Snow on Christmas Day,” which, by the way, is releasing in November. Luke recorded the guitar and bass during my birthday session in May, and last weekend, Sophia recorded drums. Both of them did fabulous!
Bob and I worked on more production before I did vocals. I had a lot of fun recording this one because I was extra and wore my Santa hat. Well, it’s a Christmas song, so why not? It definitely put me in a festive mood!
Here comes the best part. So, we had this great idea to add sleigh bells. The song is upbeat, so it totally fits. Guess who recorded the sleigh bells live. Me! It was honestly way harder than you’d think. It took me a few tries and my arms were tired afterward, but hey, it was so worth it. The bells sound so awesome in the song. Does this make me a percussionist in training? Maybe not. I’ll leave that to Sophia. It was just super fun to play the sleigh bells.
I’m seriously so beyond excited to release “Snow on Christmas Day.” Christmas will be here before we know it. Obviously, in my mind, Christmas starts on Black Friday. Did I just hint at the release date? Maybe, maybe not.
Tying the Bow on My “Homecoming Queen” Cover
Next, I recorded harmonies for my cover of “Homecoming Queen” by Kelsea Ballerini. Luke and Sophia slayed on this one, too. I’m so happy with how the song turned out, and hopefully, I can release it soon.
“Homecoming Queen” is the song that made me fall in love with country music, so it’s really special to have my own version. This song means so much to me!
Recording Vocals for “Four Leaf Clover” and “Back Then”
At this point, Bob and I realized we had a little less than half the session left, and everything I’d planned to do was already finished. So, I ended up recording vocals for both “Four Leaf Clover” and “Back Then.” At first, I didn’t think I had enough energy left to record both of them, but I pulled it off.
The amount of music I recorded during the session is insane. I’m so glad it all went perfectly. As always, I filmed pretty much everything, so stay tuned for lots of studio vlogs coming for my upcoming releases.
