“Passive Aggressive” Wins Songwriter Achievement at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards
I won my first Josie Music Award!
“Passive Aggressive” received the Songwriter Achievement Award at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards. I was unable to attend the awards in Nashville last October, but winning in this category is a dream come true. I finally got my plaque in the mail, and every minute of the wait was worth it.

Since I wasn’t able to accept my award at the CMA Theater in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, I wanted to film a video outside on a beautiful spring day to express my gratitude. Fun fact, I’m wearing the same leather jacket as the one in the “Passive Aggressive” artwork.
A Trip Down “Passive Aggressive” Memory Lane
I wrote “Passive Aggressive” two years ago when I was, you guessed it, putting up with a lot of passive aggressive behavior. Obviously, I let off steam through songwriting, and “Passive Aggressive” instantly became one of my favorite songs.
Recording this one in the studio was so much fun.
Being pop rock, “Passive Aggressive” is unlike anything I’ve written before, and I love performing this one at my live shows. Also, since release day on May 17 last year, so many listeners have told me that this is one of their favorite songs of mine.

When I found out “Passive Aggressive” was nominated for the Songwriter Achievement Award at the Josie Music Awards, I couldn’t believe it. That was my first time being nominated in this category.
The morning after the pre-party at the CMA Theater, I woke up to a message from another artist letting me know I won the award. I promptly started crying. Out of thousands of songs submitted in this category, only a select few won a plaque. Seeing “Passive Aggressive” on this list still doesn’t feel real.
Since the Songwriter Achievement category recognizes the songwriters, this award truly means the world to me.
