My Twenty-Eighth Anthology Publication – The Haikuist by Micromance Magazine
Poetry, nature, and romance? Yes, please!
I’m delighted to share that my poem, “Lonely’s Just a Phase,” is out in the inaugural issue of The Haikuist by Micromance Magazine.

The Submission Call
I love being a part of Micromance Magazine’s projects, so when I saw the submission call for The Haikuist, I wanted to give poetry a shot.
For a little while, I tried to come up with the direction I wanted to take my haiku series, but nothing came to mind. At least, not until I woke up in the middle of the night and wrote the whole poem in my head. I was too tired to get out of bed and write it down, but I thankfully remembered it in the morning.
After making small tweaks to the poem, I sent it to two friends for feedback. Both of them loved it and didn’t have any suggestions, so I submitted it. In a little under three hours, I got my acceptance. This is still my fastest acceptance ever.
“Lonely’s Just a Phase” in The Haikuist
My poem is made up of four haiku and explores the theme of soulmates through nature imagery, especially roses, the night sky, and daybreak. Even though the poems in the book don’t have titles, I chose to call mine “Lonely’s Just a Phase,” which is one of the lines.
I hope you love this poem as much as I do.

Opening My Copy of The Haikuist
I loved receiving my copy of The Haikuist because “Lonely’s Just a Phase” is my first poem that got accepted for publication, setting me on the path of becoming a published poet. You can watch the video of me opening the book on YouTube.
I was all smiles with The Haikuist!

Thank you so much to Gail for giving “Lonely’s Just a Phase” a home in the first issue of The Haikuist. This collection has a special place on my bookshelf.
