My First Studio Day of 2025 for My Fairy Tale EP

Today, I had my first studio day of 2025. My fairy tale inspired EP is coming together perfectly. During the session, I finished two songs and got work done on a third.

Summer Vibes With “Paradise”

It may be winter, but recording “Paradise” brought the summer vibes. I wrote this song years ago and always play it at my life shows. I’ve had guitar recorded for a while, but since this song didn’t fit my previous projects, I never finished it, until now.

I had the most fun with this one. It definitely made me wish I was at the beach. I even got to record an egg shaker and tambourine live—and yes, it was just as hard as playing the sleigh bells for my Christmas songs. I also loved singing this one in the studio after performing it for so long.

I’m so happy “Paradise” fits the theme of my new EP because I can’t wait to finally share the studio recording soon.

“If Your Heart Eclipses Mine,” A Favorite

Next, I recorded “If Your Heart Eclipses Mine.” This is definitely a favorite. I seriously love this song so much.

“If Your Heart Eclipses Mine” is a true piano ballad. I spent a long time composing the accompaniment. Of course, I made it complicated, but since I knew I didn’t want any other instruments in the song, the piano had to be intricate. I recorded a few takes until I was happy with my performance, down to the dynamic expression.

After recording piano, it was time for vocals. Singing this song made me realize how much I have grown as a vocalist over the past few years. I don’t know if I would have been able to do a song like this earlier in my songwriting journey. Along with putting a lot of emotional expression into the lead vocal, there are lots of background vocals that I loved recording. Since this is a piano ballad, I wanted a lot of attention on my voice and lyrics. I’m very happy with how this one turned out.

I’m excited to share that I’ve officially decided to make “If Your Heart Eclipses Mine” the second single after “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now.” This is a special one, and I seriously can’t wait to release it later this year.

Rerecording “Happy Never After”

Years ago, I fully recorded “Happy Never After.” Since then, I rewrote parts of the song, so I wanted to rerecord the vocals.

I didn’t have a whole lot of time left in the session by this point, so I was able to sing some of the song. When I go back to the studio, I’ll finish this one.

“Happy Never After” will be the closing track on the EP. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

Looking Ahead

“You Can Call Me Cinderella Now,” “If Your Heart Eclipses Mine,” and “Paradise” are fully recorded. Since “You Can Call Me Cinderella Now” and “If Your Heart Eclipses Mine” will be the singles, my producer is going to start mixing those. I’m so excited.

When I go back to the studio, I’ll finish “Happy Never After” and record the last EP track, “Invisible Tiara.” I can’t believe I’m almost done recording for this project. Soon, I’ll enter my fairy tale chapter!
