My Adventurous 2024
On New Year’s Day, I chose adventurous as my word of 2024. I couldn’t have picked a more perfect word. This was my most adventurous year yet. Before I officially tie the bow on 2024 and flip the page to 2025, I wanted to list my favorite memories and greatest accomplishments from this year.
My Adventurous 2024 in the Music Industry
First, I’m going to spotlight my biggest moments from the music industry.
I won seven music awards. “Passive Aggressive” won the Songwriter Achievement Award at the 10th Annual Josie Music Awards, and “Winter Cold” won Best Christmas Jazz Song at the 3rd Annual Holiday Music and Film Awards. In the Rampage Music Awards, I won Best New Artist, Best Acoustic Song for “Fantasy,” and Best Folk Song for “Fantasy.” I also won gold records for being voted as the ISSA Country Pop Artist of the Month in September and the Rampage Music Awards Pop Artist of the Month in November. All of these awards mean the world to me.
I attended the ISSA Awards in Atlanta and performed at the after party.
I released lots of new music this year. “Kind Heart,” “Passive Aggressive,” “I’m Introverted, So What?,” “Halfway Outta This Town (Acoustic),” “Candy Cane,” and “Meet Me At Christmas Time” were all singles. I also dropped my sophomore pop album, Hear Me Out. I worked so hard on this music, so I’m glad I released so much this year.
Write on Track: A Songwriting Podcast passed 10,000 total plays, which is so wild to me. I love hosting this show.
Along with these highlights, I did lots of interviews and received other press coverage, played live, recorded new music, shared lyric videos and other fun content, produced and co-hosted radio shows, received chart placements, and more. 2024 was truly a wonderful year for my songwriting journey.
My Adventurous 2024 in the Publishing Industry
Now, I’m going to share my golden publishing industry highlights.
I became a published author. This year, I received five anthology publications and seven total acceptances. My published stories are “The Scribe from the Lost City” in Clio’s Curious Dash Through Time by Wild Ink Publishing, “Revenge At Ravenwood” in GORE 4 (Demons): A Halloween Anthology by Poe Boy Publishing, “Age of the Vocaprompter” in UnCensored Ink: A Banned Book Inspired Anthology by Wild Ink Publishing, “Rosalia” in HORRORific Tales Volume 1: Hauntings by HORRORific Productions, and “Glitter Bows and Music Notes” in A Winter Kiss by Dragon Soul Press. My forthcoming stories are “Dabria’s Shadows” in Enchanted Tales & Twisted Lore: Fairy Tales, Folklore, and Fables Reimagined by Cabbit Crossing Publishing and “A Vow of Ice and Sapphires” in Seasons of Romantasy: Winter by Quill & Flame Publishing House. I made writing short stories for anthologies my whole personality this year, and I’m definitely going to do the same in 2025.
I started my career as a freelance fiction editor with Amethyst Ink Editorial, a literal dream job.
I launched Literary Blend: A Publishing Podcast, and I have loved every moment of hosting this show so far.
I went on submission, a huge step in my author journey. My book deal hasn’t come yet, but I believe in my heart that it’s coming soon.
I drafted my fifth manuscript, a young adult locked room thriller, and spent a lot of time revising my other books.
I became a publicist at Wild Ink Publishing, and I truly love working for this wonderful small press.
I edited Prom Perfect: A Totally Dramatic and Wild YA Anthology for Wild Ink Publishing, and I can’t wait for this book to be published next spring.
I joined the fabulous team of Revise & Resub (#RevPit) editors, a total full-circle moment.
I got offered a literary agent internship at the Purcell Agency, which I’ll be starting in January.
Along with these fabulous highlights, I wrote other short stories, made lots of industry friends, expanded my publishing network, and more. 2024 was such a fantastic year for my author journey.
I loved putting this blog post together because I was able to take time to reflect on all I’ve done in 2024. I reached so many milestones and accomplished a ton this year. I’m forever thankful for every memory.
Now, I’m officially ready to ring in 2025!
